Vitamins for Better Body Function

"Hippocrates once said, 'Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.' He firmly believed that nutrition is the most important factor for both physical and mental health and that nature generously provides us with the best remedies."

However, humans have disrupted nature’s delicate balance, believing they could control it. As a result, despite modern technology, we now produce foods with minimal nutritional value and vitamins. The minimum daily amount of any specific vitamin needed for a healthy body has always been a topic of debate among experts.

The existence of vitamins was established in 1912 by Polish physician Dr. S. Funk through research on the nature and value of different food types. Most of what we now know about vitamins comes from studying the effects of their deficiency on the human body.

This new knowledge led to the realization that the quantity of food we eat is less important than its quality. A car engine runs on a specific type of oil, and no sewing machine oil will make it function properly.

Similarly, the human body requires its own "oil" (vitamins). Since it is made up of 70% water, it also needs electrolytes, which regulate water distribution, support muscle contractions, enable movement, facilitate breathing, maintain blood circulation, and promote overall well-being.

There are groups of people for whom taking vitamins and electrolytes is essential—such as individuals who exercise regularly or engage in competitive sports. In cases where people do not follow a proper diet, their bodies have particularly increased nutritional needs.

Vitamins are classified into three main categories: water-soluble, fat-soluble, and antioxidant vitamins. They are essential for normal physical and mental development since the body either cannot synthesize them at all or produces them in insufficient amounts under specific conditions.

Vitamin needs vary from person to person, depending on factors such as age, gender, and lifestyle (e.g., smoking, sedentary habits). That’s why it’s always best to consult a specialist who can help determine the right combination of vitamins based on individual needs.

In conclusion, when people maintain a healthy diet, take vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients through dietary supplements (under expert guidance), and regulate their electrolyte balance, their muscles will contract more efficiently, allowing them to move more easily and experience less fatigue.
